Privacy Policy

I don't need this page.

This site doesn't collect any of your data to "make your reading experience better"

There is no Google Analytics code here, no Facebook Pixel and there will never be any annoying banners asking for your permission to store cookies in your browser.

The purpose of this site is not to collect your information and retarget you with ads across the internet.

The purpose of this site is not to harvest your attention and sell it to advertisers.

The purpose of this site is to provide the most value to YOU - the reader.

Every decision here is made with the best interest of the reader.

Be it the choice of hosting platform, the analytics tool I use and of course the topics I choose to write about.

But I do need some analytics to make the content best for you.

To figure the type of content that resonates with you, to find ways to provide the most value without boring you to sleep.

And for that I am using a solution called Plausible Analytics.

Please read more about their data collection methods on this Plausible Analytics page -

Plausible: Privacy focused Google Analytics alternative
Plausible provides cookie-less web analytics without collecting personal data and while respecting the privacy of your website visitors.

Here's the brief -

  • No personal data is collected, all data is aggregate and anonymized.
  • No cookies are stored.
  • No tracking across websites.
  • No persistent identifiers - this means I have no way of  identifying you or your demographics.
  • No data is sold to 3rd parties.
  • All data stored is GDPR compliant.
  • All data is stored in the EU.
  • All data will be made publicly available on a page once the site has any significant traffic

What do I give up by doing this?

Money -

Google Analytics is free, that's because they use your data to show ads to you.

That model works for them.

But it doesn't work for the rest of the internet.

Sophisticated analytics software costs money. And we should be willing to pay the price for it.

The price for our privacy.

Critical Information

By having persistent identifiers across the internet, Google is very accurately able to tell the number of first time users and returning users on a page over multiple days.

That is critical information for a content site like this.

Because it tells the site owners what the readers want more, what are they coming back for, so that I can double down on that kind of content.

Without GA, the only way for me to figure out if the audience likes the content is to look at the total number of views, bounce rate and the time spent on the site.

And returning users on the same day.

I will make my peace with that.

I trust that if you find something you like, you will be kind of enough to let me know via email or a Twitter DM.

That will be vital for me to grow this site.

Hope you understand that when browse this site your privacy is not compromised in any way.

And that is the simple privacy policy this site follows.
