I raised prices for my course, but revenue increased as well.

Hey friends πŸ‘‹

So it's been almost 2 months since I started pre-sales for my writing course.

And 1 month since I substantially raised prices.

So price went from $15 to $29

And guess what, my revenue actually increased since the price rise.

Some stats:

I raised prices for my writing course on April 13th

Before:

  • Sales: 60
  • Money made: $357

After:

  • Sales: 37
  • Money made: $626

Conversion rates fell, but revenue actually went up.

Few things that made a difference:

  • I think increased perceived value of the product.
  • A cover picture.
  • refined copy.
  • more social proof.
  • Finished product. (Initially it was just pre-sales. Now it's actual sales.)

Now I'm building a landing page on Carrd, let's see if it helps in increasing the revenue.

I think we should not hesitate from raising prices for our products. I will experiment with more price points in the future.

This is also in line with an article I wrote last week:

πŸ’Έ 3 Examples of how indie hackers raised their prices and found success
Price is one of the most important aspects of any business. Most indie hackers are terrified of increasing their prices. They worry that they’ll scare away customers or that they won’t be able to β€œget away” with charging more. But the truth is, pricing too low can actually be more
